Bollywood’s Badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, has found herself in legal trouble related to a land deal in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The young actress, who made her acting debut last year with ‘The Archies,’ has reportedly purchased land in Thal village that was originally allotted to farmers by the government.
According to a report in media, the land, valued at Rs 12.91 crore, was bought by Suhana from the Khote family, who are based in Mumbai’s upscale Cuffe Parade locality. The deal was completed on May 30, 2023, through Standard Chartered Bank, with Suhana paying a stamp duty of Rs 77.46 lakh at the time of purchase. However, officials now allege that the required permissions and paperwork for transferring such agricultural land were not obtained.
The report also mentions that the authorities have expressed concerns that the land is allocated to agricultural purposes and cannot be directly transferred without going through the proper processes. The investigation is currently underway, and an impartial report has been requested from the Alibaug tehsildar. The order for the investigation was requested by the Resident Deputy Commissioner of Police, who stressed on verifying whether the purchase violated any provisions of the law.
