Lahore, 28th July: The summer holidays will not be extended any further amid the increasing cases of coronavirus in Pakistan. However, provinces should decide their own action plan henceforth.
The meeting, chaired by the Education Secretary, was attended by the Provincial Secretary of Education on a video link. The meeting reviewed the latest situation of COVID-19.
It was unanimously decided in the meeting that board examinations would continue as per schedule and holidays of educational institutions would not be extended.
The meeting agreed to reopen the schools under COVID-19 SOPs as per the schedule and said that the provinces would decide on their own according to Corona rates.
It may be recalled that a schedule of summer vacations was issued in educational institutions, under which educational institutions are closed from July 18 to August 1. However, schools in Sindh have been closed due to an increase in coronavirus cases.
On the other hand, after this proposal came to light, the President Serving Schools Association of Pakistan Mian Raza had demanded from the NCOC to keep the schools and colleges open even in extreme circumstances.
Mian Raza, president of the Serving Schools Association of Pakistan, says that in view of COVID-19, the decision to close educational institutions for one more month must be taken wisely so that students do not suffer further educational loss.
It may be recalled that the NCOC meeting lasted only fifteen minutes due to the unavailability of ministers without any result.
According to details, the NCOC meeting on opening or closing educational institutions ended without any result due to unavailability of the minister.
