Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case related to the video threatening Justice Qazi Faiz Issa

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the hearing of the case related to anti-judicial video in the Supreme Court was adjourned for 3 weeks.

A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the case. Contempt of court convict Agha Iftikhar-ud-Din pleaded not guilty. Agha Iftikhar-ud-Din said that he would defend himself in the case.

The apex court said the perpetrator appeared in court with his lawyer, read out the contempt charge, and the attorney general assured that he would present all the evidence and witnesses. The report submitted by the FIA is incomplete. Copies of the charge and evidence should be provided to the accused’s lawyer.

Earlier, Agha Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza’s video suo motu notice case was heard in the Supreme Court on July 2. Justice Ejaz-ul-Haq said that the FIA report has been filed.

The lawyer said that Agha Iftikharuddin Mirzane has submitted an unconditional apology. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that the apology is not before us. Words which were used, could such words have been used? How to apologize in such a case?

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that there was no mercy in this case. Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan said that Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza’s video was not made by any child, Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza has his own video channel, Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza earns money from his channel, such language is not even used in the streets. Islamic scholar made such a video and made it public for the world. Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed said that Agha Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza should be presented at the next hearing, contempt of court action should be taken against Iftikhar-ud-Din Mirza.

It is to be noted that the wife of Justice Qazi Faiz Issa reached the police station to register a case on threats and applied for registration of case. A petition filed by the wife of Justice Faiz Issa at the police station said that her husband was receiving death threats.

The petition said that the police should register an FIR on the basis of the material submitted. Threats to kill a Supreme Court judge fall into the category of terrorism. Police take action. The wife of Justice Qazi Faiz Issa submitted the petition in person to SHO Police Station Secretariat Islamabad.

Serena Issa handed over the video evidence to the SHO and requested to file an FIR based on the material submitted. The petition states that the video in which the threat was made stated that any man caught in the establishment, even if he was Faiz Isa, should be made to stand in front of the firing squad.

Police refused to register a case and referred the matter to the FIA. The FIA anti-terrorism wing registered a case against Mirza Iftikharuddin.

The case was registered in the suit filed by Justice Faiz Issa’s wife Serena Issa. The Chief Justice of Pakistan later took suo motu notice of the incident. The accused was indicted at the last hearing.
