8th October 2020: A 2 member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, heard the case. The court rejected the extension plea of Additional Advocate General Sindh, and while ordering the Sindh Government to pay the travel expenses of the representing lawyers over unnecessary delay, the court said that before the next hearing, lawyers Imdad Ali and Zameerullah should be paid Rs 50,000 each. They have both come from Sindh, therefore their expenses should be paid.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that Additional Advocate General Sindh has failed to submit a copy of the written response, and is being fined the expenses of both lawyers. At the previous hearing as well, the court had exhorted compulsory attendance. Additional Advocate General Sindh made a plea for an extension of two days to the court. Upon this Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that we don’t have the authority to grant an extension.
