Suspension of Police helpline leaves people hopeless

Karachi, Oct 14: The private company, which was managing Sindh police’s Madadgar 15 helpline, has decided to stop its operations.

According to the company Officials, it has not been paid for the last six months by Police Department besides many applications and reminders.

Former IG Sindh Police A.D Khawaja had privatised police emergency helpline to improve community policing and ensure rapid response to emergency calls.

MQM leader Aminul Haque, expressed serious concerns over dramatic increase in street crimes in Karachi. He said the Sindh government and Karachi  police should re-activate 15 helpline to help people report crimes.

According to data obtained by Baaghi TV at least 31 people have been killed and 272 injured while resisting robberies in Karachi so far this year.In 2018, 50 people were killed in the city of lights during robberies and muggings attempts.
