Jemima Goldsmith, the ex-wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, offered thankfulness to the almighty God on Thursday, in response to the failed assassination attempt on the life of the former prime minister.
In her most recent Tweet, she stated, “The news we fear. Praise God, he’s fine. And thank you from his sons to the hero in the crowd who stopped the shooter.”
She also posted a photo of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Ibtisam, who faced the assailant to save the life of the former prime minister, and referred to him as a hero.
Earlier today, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, along with several party officials including Senator Faisal Javed, were injured and one was killed when gunshots were fired at the long march container.
The event occurred at Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad, during the long march receiving camp. Ghazanfar Ali, a district police official, stated that one person was murdered and ten others were injured during the attack.
The PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry stated that a bullet struck his shin. “Imran Khan and (party colleague) Faisal Javed got gunshot wounds. A bullet struck IK’s shin, and both were rushed to a hospital for treatment,” Chaudhry told Reuters.
Fawad added that Senator Faisal Javed and Ahmad Chattha were among the three people injured in the attack.
Imran Khan was later spotted with a bandage on his right leg, just above the foot, according to accounts and a grainy photograph. From his container truck, where it was announced that he was safe, he was transferred to a different vehicle.
