Baaghi TV: The French Foreign Ministry has said that EU countries are united in supporting the position of both Cyprus and Greece in confronting Turkey’s policies.
The statement said that Turkey’s intervention in neighboring countries is not acceptable and Europe will not accept Ankara’s intervention in Greece and Cyprus.
Earlier on Monday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Moss told the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee that “Turkey’s behavior at the regional level is unacceptable.”
He added that talks with Turkey should continue due to its strategic importance. Turkey can play a role in preventing the migration of refugees to Europe and separate us from ISIS.
He stressed that no one accepts that Libya should become part of the divide between Russia and Turkey. Haiko Moss said no one was interested in turning Libya into another Syria.
Moss’s comments came after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels to discuss strained relations with Turkey.
EU Commissioner for Foreign Relations Joseph Borrell said the EU was urging Turkey to honor its commitments under the Berlin Conference in Libya.
Borrell revealed that he had long and interesting consultations with European ministers about Turkey. Turkey must respect European values and interests for better relations between the two sides.
