The fastest man alive couldn’t beat the coronavirus

26th August: The man known for the 8 Olympic medals he won, known as the record-breaking fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, has tested positive for coronavirus. 

Just recently he was celebrating his 34th birthday in his house in Jamaica. Who knew that a week ago when he was throwing his mask free birthday bash, he will be in self-isolation in his house due to coronavirus.

“Just to be safe I quarantined myself and just taking it easy,” Bolt said in the message that he appeared to have taped himself while lying in bed. It was posted with the caption “Stay safe my ppl”.

According to Reuters, he took the test on Saturday, a day after his birthday party where everyone was dancing to the trending song “Lockdown.” He said that he did not have any symptoms of the virus before the test.

He retired from athletics in 2017 but has left his mark on the world forever.

Usain Bolt posted a picture of his birthday party on his Instagram exclaiming that it was the best birthday ever.

Before the Jamaica Heath Ministry confirmed that he has coronavirus, Usain Bolt posted a video where he said that he was waiting for the tests of his results to arrive. As soon as the athlete was tested positive, his fans started wishing him a speedy recovery and expressed his love for him.

“Drink up your ginger tea,” one wrote – although some accused him of carelessness regarding the party he held during the global pandemic.

Daily confirmed cases in Jamaica have surged to more than 60 per day over the past four days from less than 10 just a few weeks ago. Jamaica now has 1,612 confirmed cases, with 622 active cases and 16 deaths from coronavirus.

Due to such statistics, the government has decided to halt the reopening of schools and colleges to avoid the spread of the virus.
