Lahore, 13th April: In a 170-year-long history of the world-famous news agency Reuters, it’s the first time ever that a woman will be appointed as its editor-in-chief.
According to reports, Alessandra Galloni is the first woman to be named as the next editor-in-chief of Reuters.
Galloni, 47, is a native of Rome and she will be replacing Stephen J. Adler, who is retiring this month after being the editor-in-chief for the past decade.
As per reports, Reuters has received hundreds of journalism awards, including seven of the industry’s prestigious honour, Pulitzer Prizes under the leadership of Adler.
Previously working at the Wall Street Journal, Galloni, who speaks 4 different languages, worked at Reuters covering business and political news.
