LAHORE (30th September, 2020): In the third phase of commencement of operations across Pakistan, educational institutions have been opened under strict SOPs.
According to the reports of Baghi TV, the primary schools which were closed for six months due to Corona virus have also reopened today. Children from nursery to fifth grade in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrive at school today while, Balochistan government has reportedly postponed the decision to open primary schools.
Precautionary measures against corona virus must be followed in educational institutions. Provincial and district monitoring teams will ensure implementation of SOPs. Violations of SOPs will result in closure of educational institutions and fines.
After the first phase, a total of 35 educational institutions across the country were closed on the report of Corona cases in educational institutions. With corona cases being reported in Sindh’s educational institutions, the provincial government has extended the date for opening schools from sixth to eighth grade by one week.
Punjab Provincial Education Minister Murad Raas said that they are reviewing the situation of Corona virus on a daily basis. Where cases have come to light, the schools have been closed.
It should be noted that educational institutions were opened across the country from September 15th, but as soon as the schools reopened, cases of corona virus were found in children, teachers and other school staff.
The NCOC said that parents and teachers are requested to pay special attention to the following issues while sending their children to school. They should send their children to school wearing masks even if it is a cloth mask. Never send children to school if they show symptoms of cough or illness. If the condition is worse, the child should be tested immediately. The school should be informed in case of positive.
The NCOC further states that everyone must maintain social distance, especially between children. Make sure children wash their hands regularly or use a hand sanitizer. Drivers who take children to school or college should ensure social distance in their vehicles. Make sure the children are wearing face masks while sitting in the car.
