Three convicts who were sentenced to death for blasphemy by anti-terrorism court in Islamabad have appealed against their death sentences.The Appeals were filed in Islamabad High Court.
Convicts Abdul Waheed, Rana Noman Rafaqat and Nasir Ahmad Sultani filed an appeal through Superintendent Adiala Jail.
The Registrar’s Office has sent the file to the Chief Justice to form a bench to hear the Capital Sentence Reference by the Anti-Terrorism Court to confirm the death sentence of the said convicts. The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will set up a bench next week to hear the capital sentence references sent by the anti-terrorism court in Islamabad and the jail appeals of the convicts next week.
