Baaghi TV: The famous Chinese app TikTok, which got shut down in Pakistan on October 9, has been restored across the country today.
The announcement has been made by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on their Twitter account:
TikTok is being unlocked after assurance from management that they will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.
TikTok will moderate the account in accordance with local laws.— PTA (@PTAofficialpk) October 19, 2020
TikTok is being reinstated following assurances from the administration that it will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading pornography and immorality.
PTA said, “If someone uploads a video that spreads obscenity, TikTok will moderate this account according to local laws.”
The TikTok administration has agreed to create a mechanism to prevent unethical and inappropriate content. They say a local system has been set up to monitor unethical content and suspend such accounts.
It may be recalled that on October 9, the PTA had shut down TikTok across Pakistan on public complaints, on which a PTA spokesperson said that the decision to close the app in Pakistan was due to immoral content.
