BEIJING: Leading video app TikTok has responded to Trump’s ban by threatening legal action against the United States.
According to a report of a foreign news agency, after the famous Chinese app TikTok was banned by US President Donald Trump, TikTok also threatened Donald Trump. The TikTok administration expressed surprise at the US president’s move and hinted at a legal war against the United States.
The TikTok administration says Trump’s executive order is the worst action the US government has ever taken based on anonymous reports and information.
The video-sharing application said TikTok did not change any data from the Chinese government and imposed any kind of censorship at the government’s request.
“We will use all legal means to ensure that the rule of law is upheld,” TikTok said.
It may be recalled that US President Donald Trump had issued two executive orders against TikTok and VChat, the orders said that no US company could work with TikTok and VChat.
The White House said in a statement that the executive order was issued in the interests of national security. The order claims that corporate espionage is being carried out through these mobile apps, and information about Americans is being obtained through TikTok.
According to the order, information of US government employees and contractors is being obtained, Trump’s executive order will be implemented within 45 days.
Earlier last month, President Trump announced a ban on TikTok, saying “we’ll see what happens, but we’re looking for a lot of alternative TikTok apps in the United States, from which consumers can benefit.”
