TLP Long March: Islamabad Police Releases Traffic Alert

Police released the city’s traffic plan on the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan’s (TLP) long march.

According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, Murree Road is closed for traffic before Faizabad and from Rawal Dam Chowk to Faizabad. Park Road, Tramri Chowk and Lehtrar Road can be used to reach Islamabad Highway.

Citizens can use National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chowk and Ayyub Chowk to enter and exit the red zone, while Srinagar Highway, Ninth Avenue and IJP Road can be used to reach Rawalpindi.

A spokesman for the Islamabad Police said that the Metrobus service from IJP Road Tapak Secretariat would continue but the Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi would remain closed and the President from Rawalpindi to IJP Road would remain suspended.

On the other hand, due to the protest of TLP, the banned party, several roads in Lahore were closed and entrances and exits of Lahore were also closed. In view of the situation in the city, the police has issued an alert to the citizens regarding the traffic situation.

Wallace has instructed citizens to call 15 for information in this regard. According to police, 14 places in the city are closed for traffic, including Dubai Chowk, Kharak, Liaquat Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Double Roads and Samanabad Orphan. The box is closed to traffic.

Apart from this, the motorway on Shah Sabu side, Shahdara Chowk, Sagyan Bridge and Old Ravi Bridge, Scheme turn on Moon Market side and Scheme turn on Jalli Ghar side, Sagyan side on District Court, Data Darbar and Pir Miki are closed for traffic.

It is to be remembered that Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan was banned by the government of Pakistan. Hafiz Saad Rizvi, son of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, was arrested on April 12, 2021 from Scheme Morh Chowk, Lahore. Police arrested Hafiz Saad Rizvi to stop the protest of April 16, 2021 after their talks failed with the government regarding the deportation of the French ambassador.

After the arrest of Saad Rizvi, there was an uproar across the country, and the government banned the party, which was later challenged by the officials of the party. Hafiz Saad Rizvi is still under arrest and the party is banned by the PTI government as of today.
