Due to the Tehreek-e-Labaik (TLP) March, several roads, entrances and exits of Lahore were closed; police has issued an alert to the citizens regarding the traffic situation in view of the situation in the city.

Sources have reported, the police have directed the citizens to call 15 for information in this regard. According to the police, 14 places in the city are closed for traffic, including Dubai Chowk, Kharak, Liaquat Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Double roads and Chowk Yateem Khana towards Samanabad.

Apart from this, the motorway on Shah Sabu side, Shahdara Chowk, Sagyan Bridge and Old Ravi Bridge, Scheme Morh on Moon Market side and Scheme Morh on the Bijli Ghar side, Data Darbar and Pir Makki are closed for traffic.

Last night, TLP had announced that tonight the “Namoos-e-Risalat” march will stay at the Azadi Chowk, opposite to Minar Pakistan, and tomorrow morning after Fajr prayers, it will start its journey to its destination Islamabad (Faizabad) again.

A notification was issued by the authorities that the internet services will remain suspended in most parts of Lahore today. The notification specifically mentioned the areas of Data Darbar, Shahdara and Old and New Ravi River.

The Lahore Mass Transit Authority also temporarily shut down the metro bus service, in various areas of Lahore, due to protests by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) workers.  The areas included Allama Iqbal Town, Samanabad, Sabzazar, Gulshan-e-Ravi. The route of Metro has been limited to Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College (MAO) College.

Authorities in Rawalpindi also had to suspend metro bus service from Saddar to Faizabad and seal the routes with containers due to the expected long march by TLP workers, but bus service continued in Islamabad.

There are also reports that security agencies have been alerted and are ready to deal with any emergency.
