TLP protests, sit-ins, clashes, road blockade in major cities

Lahore, 12th April: Protests across Pakistan have erupted after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.

According to Baaghi TV’s report, protestors have taken to the streets causing major closures. TLP workers have gathered in protests and sit-ins. Clashes between protesters and police have been reported across major cities of Pakistan.

In Lahore major roads are blocked and the entry and exit points of the city have been closed down by the protestors.

Traffic is jam-packed on Multan Road and at the Yateem Khana Square protestors disrupted the shelling.

Protestors have blocked the following roads:

1-Faletti Chowk towards Faisal Chowk
2-High Court Chowk towards Regal Chowk
3-Avari Chowk towards Governor House Chowk (Opened)
4-Corporation Chowk Outfall road
5-Yateem Khana Chowk
6-Khayaban Chowk
7-Muhafiz Town towards Thokkar Chowk EME Road
8-Darogawala Chowk towards Quaid e Azam Interchange both sides
9-Chungi Amarsadhu towards Kasur both sides
10-Shahdara Chowk from all four sides
11-Shadbagh
12-Joray Pul Zarar Shaheed Road
13-Barki Road
14-Bhatta Chowk Bedian Road
15-Walton Road
16-Canal Road
17-Cup store Misrishah
18- Harbanspura Interchange slip roads
19- Shalimar Chowk towards Ghass Mandi
20- Quaid e Azam Interchange Niazi Shaheed Interchange on Ring Road
21- Bagriyan Chowk
22- Sundar Road

Meanwhile, entrances to Islamabad and Rawalpindi have also been blocked, causing problems to the people, while traffic jams have also been reported on Azad Kashmir and Murree routes.

Protestors have blocked major roads in Karachi also.

It is to be noted that police have detained the TLP chief Saad Hussain Rizvi on Monday following which the party workers have come out in huge protests.
