Lahore, 25th May: In order to promote tourism, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) increases flight operations to the northern areas of the country.

For the first time in the history of the country, Pakistan’s national carrier, PIA operated 8 flights at both the Skardu and Gilgit airports on Monday.

PIA sources informed Baaghi TV that the flights to Skardu were operated simultaneously from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

As per reports, three PIA flights from Islamabad arrived in Gilgit and one flight arrived from Lahore.

It is pertinent to mention here that PIA has fully complied with the guidelines formulated by the government for all passengers.

Increasing the number of flights to the northern regions is aimed at developing the region, providing better transport facilities and promoting tourism.

PIA spokesperson said that the demand for flights from Karachi and Lahore to Northern areas is very encouraging.

He also informed that the national carrier has kept its rents very low, to make it assessable for the general class of the country.
