Baaghi TV: February 5 is a day of solidarity with Kashmiris.
The main purpose of celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day is to raise voice against the ongoing Indian atrocities and state violence in the occupied Kashmir Valley. In this way, Pakistanis assure their oppressed and unarmed Kashmiri brothers and sisters that Pakistan stands by them in their struggle for self-determination.
Through Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5, the Pakistani nation also reiterates its commitment to stand by them until the right to self-determination is achieved.
January 21, 1990 has been marked as a black day in the history of Pakistan’s aqueduct Kashmir. On this day when the oppressed Kashmiris were protesting for their rights against Indian oppression and atrocities, the Indian forces, as per tradition, demonstrated state terrorism and opened indiscriminate firing, as a result of which 51 innocent and unarmed Kashmiris were martyred.
Undoubtedly, the hearts of the people all over the world trembled at the blood of the innocent. At that time the late Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, demanded that a day be observed which is dedicated only to renewing the covenant with Kashmiris.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed made this demand, when Benazir Bhutto was the Prime Minister at the Center, Mian Nawaz Sharif was the Chief Minister of Punjab in Punjab, but all the provinces, including the federation, unanimously supported this demand. Kashmir Solidarity Day was celebrated on February 5, 1990. This process continues to this day and is celebrated every year with the determination that Kashmir will become Pakistan.
Meetings, processions and rallies are held on the occasion of this day. Events are held at public and private levels and are a public holiday throughout the country.
There are UN resolutions for resolving the Kashmir issue but to date they have not been implemented while Pakistan has consistently highlighted the Kashmir issue in all international forums. Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken a firm stand on Kashmir during his address to the UN General Assembly in 2019.
India ended the atrocities against Kashmiris on August 5, 2019 and ended the constitutional status of Kashmir. The Modi government has also started implementing the nefarious plan of resettling millions of non-Kashmiris in the valley, against which the voices of justice activists are being raised all over the world.
The Pakistani nation has been celebrating Kashmir Day for 31 years with the aim of expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people and making them believe that Kashmir is the lifeblood of Pakistan. A large number of people in the city of Quaid remembered the Kashmiri brothers on this occasion and expressed their feelings. Some expressed their good wishes while others termed Indian atrocities as cowardice. Residents of Shar-e-Qaeda say that India cannot maintain its occupation of Kashmir, it will have to leave Kashmir today or tomorrow. Citizens say that the day is not far when paradise-like Kashmir will become Pakistan.
An exhibition of works by Kashmiri artists was held at the Lahore Museum, which was inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Kastro. The exhibition of various designs by Kashmiri artists took on its own color. Hassan was drawing lines on plain paper, writing the word freedom, shaping Kashmir.
The exhibition features Kashmiri shawls, beautiful manuscripts of the Holy Qur’an and utensils that are a testament to the skill of Kashmiri artisans. The aim is to express the determination that no matter what the circumstances, the people of Pakistan will always stand by the side of Kashmiris. This magnificent exhibition will continue to satisfy the tastes of the viewers till February 15.
The Civil Aviation Authority also hoisted banners, Kashmir and Pakistani flags on the occasion of Kashmir Day at all airports including Jinnah International, Allama Iqbal and Bacha Khan. A clock named after Srinagar was hung at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport. A documentary on Kashmir is also being aired at airports.
