City Traffic Police (CTP) on Sunday issued new travel guidelines for tourists travelling to Murree and other hill stations as snowfall brought a large number of tourists to the mountain resort town.

According to the details, the directive issued by the assistant commissioner (AC) Rawalpindi said that the rush of tourists has massively increased after Murree received its first snowfall on Sunday. Murree has a parking facility for 4,000 vehicles, however, 50,000 vehicles have entered the hill station.

Additional traffic police personnel have been deployed in Murree for the convenience of tourists. Authorities have also issued important guidelines for tourists. According to the officials, travelers should properly chain the tyres of their vehicles and strictly follow the traffic rules.

Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan urged the tourists to avoid wrong parking, double lines and taking selfies in the middle of the road. The assistant commissioner advised tourists to get weather updates and traffic-related information prior to travelling to Murree. The AC also said that Bardhiyan to Nathiagali was closed due to snowfall.
