ISLAMABAD (26th Nov. 2022): The traffic police have issued an alert for citizens, due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)’s long march.
The stage for PTI’s march has been prepared on Murree Road near Rahmanabad with caravans reaching Rawalpindi from all parts of the country to participate in the long march. Meanwhile, the administration has suspended the Metro bus service for Rawalpindi and Islamabad. An alert has been issued by the Islamabad Traffic Police.

According to a spokesperson for the Traffic department, there is a diversion from Rawat T-Cross towards Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road while one lane is kept open to allow traffic to enter Islamabad from Rawat.
Citizens have been advised to use the old Airport road from Koral Chowk for Islamabad to Rawalpindi whereas, Islamabad Expressway is closed from Koral stop and open at Faizabad.
Moreover, Faizabad to Murree road, IJP road, and roads leading to Rawalpindi are closed. Murree Road is diverted on both sides of Faizabad and traffic is being diverted to Islamabad Expressway for an alternative. Choongi No.26 is open and Srinagar Highway is open for the Islamabad Airport and Motorway.

In the red zone, access to and from Nadra and Express Chowk is closed. Citizens are advised to use Margalla Road and Ayub Chowk to enter and exit the Urban Red Zone. According to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Imran Khan’s helicopter will land at Barani Institute of Information Technology and the assembly hall will have to be vacated on the night of November 26 while strict action will be taken to block the roads.
