Lahore, 7th March: Labourers cut the railway track with a hand cutter after the Pakistan Railways (PR) authorities fail to provide any latest machinery for the rescue operation.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, railway authorities have failed to provide the latest machinery for the rescue and relief operation near Rohri, where nine bogies of the Karachi Express derailed in the late hours of Sunday.

According to reports from ARY News, the labourers are trying to cut the damaged railway tracks with a manual hand cutter.

It has been nearly 12 hours since the railway traffic has been suspended due to the incident.

According to earlier reports of Baaghi TV, a woman passenger was killed while 30 others got injured after nine bogies of Lahore-bound Karachi Express derailed near Sangi Railway station in Rohri area.

Railway officials have informed that the train derailed due to old and rundown tracks. After the accident, six to eight trains have been stopped at different stations.

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Azam Khan Swati monitored the rescue operation himself. IG Railway said that a high-level committee will be set up to determine the cause of the accident.

While talking to the media, he said an initial report of the unfortunate incident will be received in four to five days. He added that if the train driver is found guilty, he will not be spared and action will be taken against him.
