Transparency International proves PM Khan's corruption #baaghi

A Transparency International report proves Prime Minister Imran Khan is involved in corruption claimed Opposition leader and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President, Shahbaz Sharif, in the National Assembly.

Leader of the opposition Shahbaz Sharif said that the report of Transparency International has to consider how dangerous an incompetent, inadequate, and corrupt person proves to be for the country and the nation. This report of a foreign organization is proof of a failing system, and there is evidence that there was only corruption in Imran Niazi’s ‘Naya Pakistan’. According to Sharif, Prime Minister Imran Khan has broken a 10-year record in corruption.

The opposition leader said that Khan has left behind those in corruption, against whom he had claimed to enter politics. He has proved to be the deadliest, most dangerous for Pakistan and its people. What could be more dangerous than the fact that 16 levels of corruption soared? The economy has collapsed, inflation and unemployment have skyrocketed. Yet, Imran Niazi is still worried about saving his false image, not of the country or its international outlook. I am disappointed by his thought process.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the report is inviting us to improve the situation at the national level, covering it up will not solve the problem. Instead of denying the report, it is necessary to look within and hold accountable. We should consider the factors, motivations, and implications that have led to this report. Overall, the Pakistan Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) has dropped by 23 points, which will severely damage the FDI and business environment in Pakistan.

Opposition groups have called for the ‘beleaguered’ PM to resign, following a report by Transparency International. A resolution demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister has reportedly been submitted to the Punjab Assembly, by PML-N member, Sameera Komal.

The text of the resolution states that the recent report of Transparency International is a charge sheet against the government. Records of corruption have been established in Pakistan during the PTI regime. Pakistan has joined the 40 most corrupt countries in the world and currently ranks third in the world in terms of inflation.

According to Transparency International, the current government is the most corrupt government in the history of Pakistan. In addition, Prime Minister Imran Khan is responsible for increasing corruption in Pakistan. He should resign immediately.

It may be recalled that yesterday, Transparency International released the Corruption Perceptions Index of 180 countries, in which Pakistan has moved up 16 places in the CPI. According to Transparency International, Pakistan is ranked 140th out of 180 countries. The low Corruption Perception Index score indicates an increase in corruption. In 2021, Pakistan’s score was 28, in 2020 it was 31 while in 2019 it was 32. The three-year rule of the PTI has seen a four-step decline. Contrary to government claims, corruption in Pakistan has increased rather than decreased, according to a report by the Global Corruption Perceptions Index.

Following this, Transparency International’s recent report on corruption in Pakistan, was discussed at a meeting of the Federal Cabinet. Reacting to the report of Transparency International, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the present government has taken the most steps against corruption. Instead of facing corruption cases, the corrupt are sitting outside the country. Unnecessary delays are being made to delay the verdict in corruption cases. The government has decided to take effective action in the courts for speedy disposal of pending corruption cases.
