The lawmakers hailing from erstwhile FATA present day K-P demanded government to abolish taxes imposed in tribal districts in Budget 2019-20 otherwise they will protest and will lock down Islamabad.
According to the reports of Baaghitv, lawmakers from erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) present-day Tribal Districts have strongly criticized government decision to impose taxes, which they termed tantamount to rendering Pashtun jobless and food-less.
These include Haji Shah Jee Gul Afridi, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Latif Afridi. Shah Jee Arfidi said, “…There was no exemption from tax in the electricity bill as we were paying it before also. The promise made to us during the budget is not being kept.” He appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan that there should not be any taxes imposed in the tribal districts as it was promised to them.
JUI-F MNA Mufti Abdul Shakoor said, oppression against tribal people is continuing for such a long period. It was started during British Raj and it is continue till today which must end and the sacrifices rendered by tribal people must be recognized.
