Ankara, June 21 (AFP/APP):According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey has decided to end weekend lockdowns in July and remove other restrictions as coronavirus cases subside in the country.
In the latest Wave of covid-19, Turkey underwent its first full national lockdown in late April. But now as the cases have subsided from 60,000 to 5,000, restrictions have been eased.
According to the President, the drop in cases will allow them to lift restrictions and curfews from July 1.
Turkey has been providing its people with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses which has helped in controlling the virus spread.
It has been administering more than a million doses a day for the past week and has now given at least one shot to more than 28 million people.
Turkey’s officials death toll from the virus stands at 49,236.
