Twitter removes 'blue tick' from Afghan govt accounts

The social networking site Twitter has removed the verification mark (blue tick) from several accounts of the Afghanistan government.

According to the details, official social media accounts of several ministries have been used by the Taliban since the announcement of an interim government in Afghanistan.

These ministries include foreign, defense, interior and finance. All of these accounts were verified by Twitter before the control of Taliban, but now Twitter has removed the verification marks from these accounts.

In addition, Twitter has removed the blue tick from the inactive account of the Afghan presidential palace since August 15, 2021. However, there are still confirmations on the Twitter accounts of many former Afghan government figures and they have not been removed.
