Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates will send its first space mission to the moon on November 28. If the mission is successful, the UAE will become the first Arab country and the fourth country in the world to land on the surface of the moon after the United States, Russia and China.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the decision to send the first Emirati space mission – Explorer Rashid to the moon on November 28 to explore the mysteries of the moon after Mars.
The objective of the mission is to examine the surface of the Moon from various aspects, including the study of the lunar soil and its composition, texture, thermal properties and conduction properties.
During the mission the rover will take pictures of the lunar surface and send them back to the control room in Dubai, the mission will also test new technologies in materials science, robotics, mobility, navigation and communication.
