UAE Prime Minister announces 30 tons of medical aid for injured in Beirut

Dubai: The Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates announced 30 tons of medical supplies for the devastated Beirut.

According to reports, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has taken the initiative in the Arab world by announcing the largest aid to the people of Beirut after the catastrophic disaster in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Sheikh Mohammed Rashid al-Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, has ordered 30 tons of medical supplies and aid to be sent to Beirut following yesterday’s deadly bombing.

According to Baaghi TV, a 747 jumbo jet from the United Arab Emirates has arrived in Beirut carrying about 30 tons of relief supplies following the order of Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum. This includes trauma kits, surgical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE). This consignment from the UAE, obtained from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC)

Regarding the supply of relief goods in Beirut, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Sheibani, said:

The Supreme Leader of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has ordered that aid be sent immediately on his private plane to address the casualties caused by the bombing and the plight of the Lebanese people.

Robert Blanchard, the WHO’s representative in Dubai, said the WHO was sending trauma kits for the treatment of 500 wounded and was providing surgical kits to 500 people in need of surgical care.

According to Baaghi TV, the generosity and sympathy of the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is being appreciated internationally and it is being said that the people of Lebanon are very happy and they are also thanking Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.

Regarding supplies supplied by the UAE, Thierry Blue, IFRC’s Director of Supply Chain Management, said that PPE’s equipment provided Lebanese Red Cross volunteers and staff with about five survivors of the Beirut port disaster. It will help provide safe assistance to thousands of people.

“A lot of people have been affected by the blast and it is very important that these medical teams consisting of medical specialists will bring relief to the people of Kirbyrut with strategies such as dealing with the corona virus,” Bale said.

He added, “The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, with the support of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, has shipped the goods from the Global Logistics Hub in Dubai.

The Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, took to Twitter to offer his condolences to the victims. May God have mercy on Lebanon and the people of Lebanon.

“Our hearts go out to Beirut and its people,” the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs tweeted.

Minister of State Anwar Qarqash also posted a picture of the Burj Khalifa decorated with the Lebanese flag with his condolence message.

“In this difficult time, we pray that God will protect the brotherly country of Lebanon and its people, alleviate their suffering and heal their wounds,” he wrote.
