UK: “British Muslim are afraid of being sent home”, says Syeda Warsi
UK: According to Syeda Warsi, Muslims living in Britain are constantly afraid of the thought of being “sent to their homes” as the Uk treats them badly and deprives them of their rights as citizens.
She says that people like her have been living in the UK since they were born and that they have no home other than the UK to return to if the UK turns them out due to their undue hate for the Muslims. She reminisces that her father used to dream of owning a house in Pakistan’s Upper Punjab so that he and his family could live their with ease, without the fear of being turned out.
Her mother used to worry about the idea as for her it seemed to be impossible. Syeda, aged 50, now carries the same desire in her heart as she know that the British might turn her out at any moment.
She says that here in the UK, if a Muslim commits a minor crime, he or she will be gravely punished and will be asked to “go back home” as they are regarded as second-rate citizens. If a similar crime is commited by a white British then he will easily be pardoned.
She says that the state of British Muslims, including her, is always in peril and that it is really hard for a Muslim to live easily in the UK.
