A woman has been apprehended on suspicion of murder in connection with the tragic death of a toddler discovered in a village pond.
The incident unfolded when a two-year-old child was reported missing from her residence on Forge Road, Kingsley, near Bordon, Hampshire, at approximately 5:00 PM BST on Sunday.
Shortly after that, she was located in Kingsley Pond and subsequently transported to a hospital where, regrettably, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday, as disclosed by Hampshire Police.
According to law enforcement authorities, the woman, aged in her 40s, is currently in custody for questioning.
Additionally, Hampshire Police noted that the young girl’s family is receiving support from specialized officers during this distressing time.
