UN Security Council Meeting: Shah Mehmood Qureshi Missing!

Pakistan requested for a Security Council meeting last Monday when Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi, presented a letter written by the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to the president of the Security Council.
The UN Security Council meeting will be held today to consider an illegitimate move by the fanatical Indian government to change the status of occupied Kashmir. This meeting is taking place in Kashmir after 50 years and this meeting is taking place on the appeal of Pakistan.
However, once again the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi is not attending the meeting which has raised many questions and concerns.
As the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, rather than addressing the media or conducting rallies, it was his utmost responsibility to be present there at the meeting. What a shame for the nation of Pakistan that their representative, who himself wrote a letter requesting to convene a meeting on Kashmir dispute in the Security Council, is in absentia.
This action of inactivity by the Foreign Minister raises many concerns. Does he know something that we do not know as yet? Does he know the decision of the UN ahead of coming? Or does he not want to look bad in the eyes of the Indian supported international community? Who is he trying to please? Should he have left this to our representative at the UN and not gone himself to put weight behind this move? Does he deserve to remain as our Foreign Minister?
