Unleashing Pakistan’s Potential!

Pakistan requires total reform. An uprooting of the old order.

Not incremental changes on the edifice of the old order, whether its British parliamentary type democracy or our completely dysfunctional electoral system, judiciary, law enforcement, bureaucracy.

We will never achieve our potential under the current elite captured system!

Electables, Plutocrats, Kleptocrats will continue to rule the roost.

Sharifs, Zardaris, Bhuttos etc. will continue in power one way or the other as will powerful institutions.

We have no other option but to uproot the system by seeking recourse to the people, through a referendum for total reform.

The upheaval and pain of this change will be chaotic perhaps even catastrophic but, unfortunately, it is the only way.

Otherwise we can continue to plod along and continue to be exploited as we have for thousands of years at the mercy of the cruel and the powerful, who’ve hijacked Pakistan!

And the people have to rise!

And we also need massive reforms in our military thinking, strategy and organization as well.

For this we need a “nation at arms” concept, which addresses our security needs and challenges and contributes to National Power. With military power being one of over a dozen elements of National power.

In the long term we do not need a huge large standing Army, but a huge disciplined society and one way of achieving this is national service, as we have in Turkey or in Israel, which at the height of its security challenges from 48 to 73, did not have a standing army.

While we may not be able to change our concept of physical security and of a large large Army, the battlegrounds have dramatically changed from the physical to the economic, to cyber and information.

These are the battlegrounds or better the environment we must be able to play in effectively and win!

We must plan now for a “Nation at Arms” not necessarily only military weapons but armed with the modern tools of technology and economic well being!

We cannot expect dramatically different and better results from the same structure we have today. Marginal changes, perhaps yes.

But for a paradigm change, we have to uproot the old order and change the entire structure.

And for the people to grow a Spine!
