February 10, 2021:

BaaghiTV: The bad news for power consumers is that, in the context of December’s fuel price adjustment, electricity has been increased by Rs 53 per unit. NEPRA has decided to increase the price of electricity, consumers will have to pay extra in next month’s bills. The ruling will not apply to Lifeline and K-Electric customers.

K-Electric, on the other hand, has requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity for the last four months and reduce it for three months, on the approval of which the electricity tariff of K-Electric has been increased by Rs 3.24 per unit.

In terms of monthly adjustments, K-Electric has requested to reduce the price of electricity by Rs.1.52, and it has also requested a revision in electricity prices for three quarters.The company applied for  this for 3 quarters from April to December 2020.

It has been asked to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.79 paise for July-December 2020 while it has been requested to reduce the price of electricity by Rs 3.91 paise for April-June 2020. NEPRA will hold a hearing on February 23 at the request of K-Electric.
