ISLAMABAD (November 12, 2021): A five-member US delegation led by Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West called on National Security Advisor Dr. Moeed Yousaf.

According to reports, the two sides reportedly discussed the situation in Afghanistan. National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed Yousaf said that the Afghan men, women, and children are in dire need of humanitarian aid. The world needs to devise a system through which aid can reach Afghans before winter, he added. The Taliban need to be included in the constructive dialogue, the vacuum created by the political instability will be beneficial to terrorist organizations. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthen cooperation and ties in all fields.

Earlier, a four-member US delegation met with National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yousaf. The delegation was led by Mr. Chris Socha, Minority Staff Director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The situation in Afghanistan was discussed during the meeting. On this occasion, Dr. Moeed Yousuf said that Pakistan has always said that no military solution to Afghanistan is possible. Humanitarian aid should be provided to Afghanistan immediately. Stable and peaceful Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. The two sides agreed to work together in all fields to improve bilateral relations.
