US not paying for the use of Pakistani airspace: DG CAA

During a meeting of Senate Standing Committee (SSC) on Aviation, the Director General (DG) Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that the United States (US) is not paying the government of Pakistan for using their airspace.
According to the details, a question was raised by the Former Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani. During the meeting, Raza Rabbani said that the United States is using the air corridor of Pakistan, are they paying the charges?
On which the DG CAA Flt Lt (R) Khaqan Murtaza gave his remarks saying that the US has not been giving flying charges to the government since the last ten years but the corridor is being used. Furthermore, he said that civil airlines of India also use the Pakistani airspace, however, Indian military aircrafts are not allowed to enter into the airspace.
Airports lack explosive detection equipments: SSC Aviation
In the meeting, it was also revealed by the Senate Standing Committee that not all airports in the country have explosive detection equipments. An important revelation was made by the officials of the Airport Security Force (ASF) that ASF does not have the equipment to check the explosives at the airports.
“We will recommend to the government to ensure the supply of equipment,” the ASF official said. The committee assured the ASF that the shortage of equipment would be met.
