New York, Feb 12 (AFP/APP): Wall Street stocks hit new records on Wednesday, once again closing higher as investors remained confident that a virus outbreak in China will not imperil the global economy. The death toll from the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic in China climbed past 1,100 earlier, but the number of new cases fell for a second straight day raising hopes the outbreak could peak later this month which consoled investors, analysts said.
