Use of force is at the discretion of State: DG ISPR

Islamabad, 22nd February: The use of force is only at the discretion of the state, spokesperson of the Army gives a briefing after the operation ‘Rudd-ul- Fasaad’ completes its four years.

Baaghi TV: DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar gave a press briefing on Monday stating that Operation Rudd-ul-Fasaad was launched under the leadership of Army Chief four years back.

DG ISPR said that today every Pakistani is a part of the operation. The purpose of Operation Rudd-ul-Fasaad was to establish peace in the country, the purpose of the operation was to make terrorists completely ineffective.

He added that the purpose of the operation was to restore public confidence in the state.

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar further said that the anti-corruption operation was carried out under a two-point strategy. The terrorists tried to take refuge across the country and the terrorists planned to paralyze life in Pakistan.

DG ISPR said that attempts have been made to integrate the tribal areas into the national mainstream. The use of force is at the discretion of the state alone. He informed that more than 300,000 intelligence-based operations have been carried out across the country.
