Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Varun Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Minimum Support Price (MSP) issues related to farmers.

According to the details, BJP MP Varun Gandhi has demanded PM Narendra Modi to enact a law on Minimum Support Price (MSP). He also appealed to the government to announce a compensation of Rs 10 million each for the farmers who lost their lives during the agitation.

On Friday, the central government announced the withdrawal of the three contentious farm laws. The government says the process of returning the law will be completed in the next parliamentary session. Apart from farmers, many leaders have also demanded a law on MSP from the government.

Farm Laws: Modi Kneels Before the Farmers, Announces Repeal

In a letter on Saturday, Varun Gandhi thanked Prime Minister Modi for withdrawing the farm laws. At the same time, he called on the government to enact a law on MSP.

“I thank you very much for announcing the repeal of the three farm laws,” he wrote.

Regarding the MSP, he wrote that the movement will not end until the issue was resolved. They have demanded legislation on MSP. Varun Gandhi wrote that more than 700 farmers have been “martyred” during this agitation and this decision should have been taken earlier.

“While requesting sympathy to the families of our farmer brothers and sisters who were martyred during the agitation, a compensation of Rs 10 million has been announced for each of them,” he wrote.

He also demanded that the ‘false’ First Information Report (FIR) registered against the farmers be dropped.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case

In a letter to Prime Minister Modi, the BJP MP has demanded stern action against the father of accused Ashish Mishra and son of Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.

It was reported that in October, in Lakhimpur Kheri, the vehicle of the Union Minister’s son had run over the protesting farmers, after which violence had erupted in the area. Eight people were killed in the violence. They include four farmers, a journalist, two BJP workers and a driver.
