QUETTA: Veteran politician and former chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani formally joined the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) in the presence of party leader Maulana Fazl Rehman earlier on Wednesday.
Prominent leaders of the JUI-F and a huge number of Nawab Aslam Raisani’s supporters participated in the formal joining ceremony held in Quetta.
During his speech, the Nawab announced that from now, he is a part of the JUI-F, the roots of which were laid by Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, who founded the party back in 1945.
Maulana Fazl Rehman, who is the current chief of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), addressed the crowd and remarked that after a lot of attempts, we have finally succeeded in getting Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani on board.
The Nawab also said that he had a cordial relationship with the JUI-F back in 2008, when he was chief minister of the Balochistan province.
He said he would intensify his struggle for the rights of the people of Balochistan through the platform of JUI-F.
