Veteran Bollywood Lyricist Dev Kohli Dies In Mumbai
Veteran Hindi film lyricist Dev Kohli died in Mumbai on Saturday, He was 80. Dev Kohli was famed for his songs in over 100 films including Maine Pyaar Kiya, Baazigar, Judwaa 2, Musafir, Shoot Out At Lokhandwala and Taxi No. 9 2 11. He has collaborated with music directors like Anu Malik, Raam Laxman, Anand Raaj Anand, Anand Milind among others.
Dev Kohli’s spokesperson Pritam Sharma confirmed the lyricist died at his home early this morning. He had ailing for some months now and had been admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai before being brought home around 10 days ago, Sharma said.
Dev Kohli’s last rites will be conducted in Jogeshwari West around 6 pm today. Close friends Anand Raaj Anand, Anu Malik, Uttam Singh along with stars from Bollywood will attend his funeral.
Born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan into a Sikh family, Kohli relocated to Dehradun following Partition.
