Quetta video scandal: Police have as yet failed to rescue victims

ABBOTTABAD, Dec 31(APP): The victim family of a child who was allegedly abused by a teacher Tuesday called for constituting a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for transparent probe into the incident besides shifting of the case from Mansehra to any other place.

Addressing a press conference here, Muhammad Iqbal, the uncle of sexually abused child Yahoos and other family members rejected the formation of a committee of Ulema into the incident and said it was formed to weaken the case and protect the accused teacher who tortured and molested Yahoos.

The relatives of victim child said the Ulema were trying to spoil the case, adding certain Ulemas were continuously blaming them for taking directions from NGOs against Madaris.

Human rights activist Advocate Shabnam Nawaz while addressing on the occasion said the victim child was unable to eat, speak and walk despite passage of 10 days of the incident.

He said the child was brutally tortured and sexually abused and the same was confirmed by doctors in the medical reports.

She further said Madaris were playing an important role in dissemination of Islamic education but unfortunately some people were diverting the attention from the case by giving an impression that Madaris were being defamed in the name of such cases.

Shabnam Nawaz questioned that why the DNA test of both the victim and accused were not being tested to ascertain the truth.

She disclosed that a team of lawyers from Manshera Bar Club would provide free legal assistance to the victim child Yahoos and no lawyer from the bar would plead the case of the offender.
