Violence in Delhi After Dalits Protest Against Temple Demolition

Violence was reported from Tughlaqabad area of south Delhi as people protesting against a recent incident of temple demolition took out to streets and caused losses worth million of rupees on Friday.

According to reports of Baaghitv, Violence was reported in Tughlaqabad area of South Delhi, where protesters clashed with police on the issue of demolition of temple by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had carried out the demolition of the temple on the orders of the Supreme Court. This has led to strong protests by Dalits in different states of India. The protest has led to violence as witnessed today at evening in Tughlaqabad vicinity of South Delhi. Shops were closed by the use of force, glass of various cars were broken by protesters. People became petrified as the situation got worse at evening.

An eye-witness said the horrific scenes were witnessed in Tughlaqabad area of South Delhi as scores of protesters inflicted losses worth million of rupees to property.

The protesters, who were gathered under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Mandir Sanyukta Samiti, an umbrella body of Dalits formed for this movement, vowed to continue their fight till their demands were met.
