War expected between two superpowers: Chief Of Defense Staff
Lahore, 6th November: A war between China and India could erupt at any time, the Indian Chief of Defense Staff has warned.
According to Indian media, General Bipin Rawat said in his keynote address that China and India are holding commander-level talks but the situation on the Line of Actual Control is still tense.
The possibility of turning into a battle cannot be ruled out. The two armies will face each other for the first time in winter at an altitude of thousands of feet due to India-China tensions.
Former member Theopistan Chuang told The Hindu that residents of the area near the Line of Actual Control told him that the situation on the border was “worrying” and that the Chinese army had not occupied any more important places on Finger 2 and 3.
He said that according to the locals, the Indian troops are housed in tents which are not suitable in extreme cold weather conditions. Even after several rounds of talks, if the government has not been able to persuade the Chinese to evacuate, then providing adequate accommodation to the troops, keeping them in tents is not acceptable.
