We need to make up people’s minds, Mehwish Hayat

KARACHI: Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has expressed anger over the controversial statement of CCPO Lahore and said that we should train the police personnel in such a way that people can go and talk to them.

During an interview Mehwish said” we need to change the mindsets of our masses so that in the mere future statements like ones from CCPO Punjab, would never surface”

“Our police officers should be trained so that people can talk to them,” she said. Mehwish Hayat suggested that victims of abuse cases must be encouraged so that they can be a part of society again and live their lives with dignity.

It may be recalled that the CCPO Lahore had made a controversial statement regarding the Gujjarpura Motorway rape case two days ago, which was strongly protested by users on the social networking site. Meanwhile, civil society across the country today also staged demonstrations demanding justice for the woman and dismissal of CCPO Lahore.
