Lahore, 30th April: Renowned Indian TV News anchor and journalist Rohit Sardana has passed away.

According to reports, well-known journalist Rohit Sardana passed away on Friday after suffering from COVID-19.

Sardana was infected with the deadly coronavirus a week ago and was undergoing treatment in a hospital where he succumbed to the disease.

According to reports from the Indian media, on April 24, Sardana tweeted that he has contracted the coronavirus.

According to sources, he breathed his last today morning after he suffered a heart attack.

Rohit Sardana’s current and former colleagues have condoled the death of the TV anchor on Twitter.

Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai has also given information about Rohit Sardana’s death. Paying tribute on Twitter, he said, “Friends, this is very sad news. Famous TV news anchor Rohit Sardana has passed away. He had a heart attack this morning. Deep condolences to his family.”

Indian Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has paid tribute to him and tweeted that he was shocked by the news of the death of journalist Rohit Sardana, who has made a name for himself in the world of Hindi media in a very short time. He was a very talented journalist. His death has caused great damage to the media world. My deepest condolences to his family.”

Sardana’s former colleague from Zee Network, Sudhir Chaudhry also expressed grief at teh demise of his fellow peer.

It is to be noted that 40-year-old Rohit Sardana has been a part of TV media for a long time and has worked on many TV channels. Rohit Sardana was also awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award in 2018. His sancestors were from Jhang (South Punjab).

Sardana known for his fearless approach and distinct vocal style carried out prime-time TV shows like ‘Taal Thok Ke’ at Zee Network and ‘Dangal’ in Aaj Tak. He was also a 2018 Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar Award recipient.

 

Personalities from different walks of life are pouring their heart out at the sudden demise of the TV anchor. Veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad while expressing grief over the demise called him “a strong and straightforward journalist.”

 

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain offered his deepest condolences and prayed for his family.
