WhatsApp, the most used messaging platform worldwide, has suspended more than 8.4 million (8.4 million) Indian WhatsApp accounts in one month.
According to Kashmir Media Service, reports said this action has been taken by WhatsApp’s parent company Meta in view of fraudulent activities.
According to media reports, in August 2024, WhatsApp received complaints from 10,707 users, out of which 93 percent of the complaints were immediately taken action.
Meta has suspended about 8.45 million WhatsApp accounts in India under the Information Technology Act.
