When will the Orange Line Train operate? Announced
According to the report of Baaghi TV, the Punjab Chief Minister gave approval to run the Orange Line train on October 25.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed all concerned agencies to complete the operational arrangements. The Punjab Cabinet also supported the decision of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
In a meeting of the Punjab Cabinet chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Cabinet approved to fix the fare of Orange Line Metro train. The Cabinet proposed to fix the fare at Rs 50 but the Chief Minister rejected the proposal to fix the train fare at Rs 50 and approved to fix the train fare at Rs 40 to provide relief to the citizens of Lahore.
The Orange train is running on electricity. The Orange Train will cover a distance of 27.1 km in 45 minutes. One bogie of the train can seat 50 passengers.
The 25.4 km track of the Orange Train is elevated while 1.72 km is underground. Of the 26 stations, 24 are elevated and 2 are underground. The maximum speed of the train is 80 km per hour but the train will run at an average speed of 34.8 km per hour.
Work on the 1.62 billion Metro Orange Line train project with Exim Bank China began on October 2, 2015. According to PC-1, the project was supposed to be completed in 27 months, but the plan is still incomplete after 50 months due to the Lahore High Court’s restraining order, slow pace of work and drastic increase in cost.
