According to the reports, after the coronavirus has been declared a pandemic, the countries underwent lockdowns, restricting the people in their homes. It is said that more than 20 million children are expected to be born between December and March in India.
UNICEF after a detailed study on the lockdown conditions in India said in its report that more than 20 million children are expected to be born between December and March. This will be the record number of births in India.

The reason cited for the birth of 20 million children in India between December and March is because of the lockdown, couples are locked in their homes, offices are closed, daily life has come to a standstill. There is a strong possibility that Indian citizens have engaged themselves in the matrimonial act during the lockdown and therefore more than 20 million children are expected to be born.
It should be noted that the lockdown is in force in India till May 17. Modi government has decided to maintain the lockdown across India for two more weeks due to the coronavirus.
