Which important personalities will attend Biden’s inaugural ceremony?

Washington, 20th January: US President-elect Jo Biden will be sworn in on Wednesday as the 46th president of the United States.

According to details from Reuters, Joe Biden will take the oath of office from Chief Justice John Roberts, while vice president Kamala Harris will take oath from Justice Sonia Soto Mayer of the Supreme Court.

Former presidents including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, are expected to attend Biden’s inauguration today, and US Vice President Mike Pence is also expected to attend.

According to a White House spokesman, a number of members of Congress along with the celebrities are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.

Lady Gaga will sing the US national anthem and Jennifer Lopez will perform in a concert. 

Hollywood star Tom Hanks will host a 90-minute special transmission at the event, which will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, News Now and many more.

According to the tradition in the United States, the outgoing president attends the swearing-in ceremony of the elected president, but Donald Trump will not attend today’s ceremony.

According to reports, White House chiefs will welcome the new president instead of Donald Trump, which has happened 160 years later in American history.

Meanwhile, there is a curfew in the US capital Washington, with more than 25,000 National Guard personnel deployed. A state of emergency has been declared in several states and the US Parliament has been cordoned off.
