WHO bans the use of coronavirus vaccine
GENEVA: The World Health Organization (WHO) has banned the use of hydrochloroquine, a malaria drug given to the patients of coronavirus.
The WHO said in a statement on Saturday said that the drug hydrochloroquine has not been showing positive result and ineffective for patients, prompting it to suspend its use immediately.
According to the details, WHO said that hospitalized coronavirus patients were given hydrochloroquine, which did not help save their lives and did not show any significant positive results.
COVID-19: WHO resumes study on Hydroxychloroquine
On Saturday, over 200,000 cases of corona were reported worldwide, the highest number ever. In the United States (US) alone, 53,213 cases were reported in 24 hours, while 212,326 new cases were reported worldwide.
According to the WHO, interim trials of hydrochloroquine and the anti-HIV drug, which treat malaria, have shown no benefit to patients, so their use should be stopped immediately.
