Five members of the assembly, including a former President and two former Prime Ministers, will spend Eid ul Adha in prison.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will spend his Eid in Kot Lakhpat jail as he is imprisoned for seven years in Al-Azizia reference case. Her daugher, Maryam Nawaz, will also be spending her Eid in the NAB custody with two of her cousins, Hamza Shahbaz, son of Shahbaz Sharif and Yousaf Abbas, son of Abbas Sharif. Maryam and Yousaf are arrested by NAB in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
Another former Prime Minister and a senior member of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will also spend his Eid in jail while Rana Sanaullah is also arrested by Anti Narcotics Force in a drugs case.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq, another member of the PML-N, and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafiq will also spend their Eid in jail.
Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former President Asif Ali Zardari will also spend Eid in jail. NAB has arrested him in fake accounts case. Moreover, Asif Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur will also spend her Eid under the custody of NAB. A judicial remand has been ordered by the Accountability Court on Sunday.
Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the Emir of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, and Hafiz Abdul Rahman Maki, the central leader of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, will also be held in jail during Eid. They have been arrested by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and kept under their custody.
